Best places to eat and drink in Key West, Florida
Key West isn't a culinary hotspot in the USA but there are loads of really cute restaurants throughout. As Key West isn't massive, I wouldn't say the list of restaurants and bars is extensive, but here are what we thought were some of the best restaurants, bars and places to eat and drink in Key West:
1. Moondog Cafe & Bakery
We went here twice because we loved it so much. The food was great, we went here once for lunch and had the Ahi Tuna Poke (the flavours were amazing and the food was so fresh), with sweet potato fries that came with key lime curry sauce as well as their margaritas. When we returned for breakfast we had some of their sandwiches as well as baked goods from the counter. The food is fantastic here and the staff are so friendly, would make this is a must visit whilst in Key West.
2. Nine One Five
We went here for dinner and really enjoyed the food. We got a few plates to share and the food was fresh and had nice flavours. We sat outside and the setting is really nice, its as though you are at someone's house and sat out the front. They also have a lounge upstairs for drinks.
4. Sunset Pier
The perfect place for sunset cocktails in Key West. The views are the best part about this bar and we also loved the live music. The service is quite slow, but because it gets really busy at sunset. Get here early if you want a seat/table for when the sunsets.
5. Bobby's Monkey Bar
One of the most iconic bars in Key West due to all the money that is stuck over the walls and ceiling. They had live music here and was a nice evening. We found it quite bizarre that the waitress working there didn't know why the money was everywhere, but you should definitely go for a drink whilst in Key West.
6. Santiago's Bodega
A cute little tapas bar away from the main streets of Key West in Old Town. All the plates are good for sharing and we enjoyed a nice evening there.
