Guide to Laguna Kaan Luum, Tulum Mexico

Visiting Laguna Kaan Luum, a beautiful green like. A hidden gem in Tulum

Laguna Kaan Luum

We randomly came across this cenote (that looks like a massive lake) on Instagram and it wasn't somewhere we had heard of when doing our research for Tulum. Laguna Kaan Luum is a massive freshwater lake just outside of Tulum (less than 15 min drive from downtown) and it's nothing like I've seen before.

The lake is bright green (the greenest lake I've ever seen) and it goes on for miles. It's 300 pesos / 15 USD to enter and once you're in you can go up the 'look-out post' to get a view from above, or walk down one of the piers to look at the perfectly clear water or chill out in one of the over water hammocks. t's great for swimming (you aren't allowed to wear suncream) and it's also really shallow. We found it was mostly locals enjoying it, but I think at the weekends it can get very busy with tourists.
